The effect of the addition of a pressed castor oil cake, abiodiesel co-product, on the mechanical properties of a grade of LDPE used in the packaging industry was recently evaluated. It was verified that the addition of this filler to the LDPE matrix improves the flexural properties of this polymer. Patent application filed by a Brazilian oil industry and published recently requires the privilege of obtaining composite materials with enhanced degradability using castor oil cake as filler. The description of thisinvention is not available yet.
